This privacy policy explains how the Law Office of Jimmy Nguyen APC (“we,” “us,” or “the firm”) collects, uses, and shares information through this website, lawjn.com. It applies only to this website, not to information you provide to us by other means or after we begin representing you.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you submit the contact form, the case evaluation form, or the buyer checklist request form, we collect the information you enter. Depending on the form, that may include:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your telephone number, if you provide one
- The city or county where the property is located, if you provide it
- The subject line and message you write, including any facts you choose to share about your situation
- Whether you asked to receive news and updates from the firm
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, this site collects certain technical information when you visit, including your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the time and date of your visit, and the site or search that referred you. This is collected through Google Analytics, which sets cookies and similar identifiers in your browser, and through routine server logs kept by our hosting provider.
We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13, and this site is not directed to children.
How we use this information
- To respond to your inquiry and evaluate whether we can assist you
- To communicate with you about your question or matter
- To send firm news and updates, but only if you asked to receive them
- To run a conflicts check before agreeing to represent anyone
- To understand how visitors find and use this site so we can improve it
- To comply with our legal, ethical, and professional obligations as a California law firm
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Categories of third parties we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help us operate this website and our practice, and only as needed for them to perform that service:
- Website hosting and form processing. This site is hosted on Netlify, which processes and stores form submissions and maintains server logs.
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand site traffic. Google receives the technical information described above.
- Web fonts. This site loads typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google’s servers and Google receives your IP address as part of that request.
- Email. Form submissions are delivered to our firm email, which is hosted by Google Workspace.
We may also disclose information where we are required to do so by law, court order, or subpoena, or where disclosure is permitted or required by the California Rules of Professional Conduct.
Cookies and your choices
You can set your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If you refuse cookies, this site will still work, though our analytics will not count your visit. You can also opt out of Google Analytics across all websites using Google’s browser opt-out add-on.
Do Not Track signals
Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal to websites you visit. There is no common industry standard for how to interpret these signals. This website does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals. If that changes, we will update this policy.
Third-party tracking across websites
Google Analytics, described above, may collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you visit this site. We do not permit any other third party to collect personally identifiable information about your activities across other websites through this site, and we do not run third-party advertising networks here.
Reviewing or changing your information
You may ask us what information you submitted through this site, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email jimmy@lawjn.com or call 408.645.0606 and tell us what you would like changed.
Please note two limits. First, if we have opened a matter for you, records relating to that representation are subject to our professional obligations regarding client files and may need to be retained. Second, we may need to retain limited information to run future conflicts checks, which is an ethical requirement rather than a marketing purpose.
If you asked to receive news and updates and no longer want them, you can unsubscribe using the link in any such email, or simply reply and ask us to stop.
Important: submitting a form does not make you a client
Sending information through this website does not create an attorney-client relationship, and information you send before that relationship is established in writing may not be protected as confidential. Please do not send sensitive, privileged, or time-sensitive information through this site until we have confirmed in writing that we represent you. If your matter is urgent, call 408.645.0606.
Security
This site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and form submissions are transmitted over that encrypted connection. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information sent over the internet.
Links to other sites
This site may link to websites we do not operate. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, and this policy does not apply to them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will post the revised policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date above. Material changes take effect when posted, so we encourage you to review this page periodically. If you have an active matter with us, we will notify you directly of any change that materially affects how we handle your information.
